TITIP-004 Asset inventory

Status Accepted
Version 0.1
Stage 0 — Authority

Purpose

Define the inventory the owner builds while they are active: categories, instructions, and recipient assignment. The inventory is guidance. Storage rules for the bytes live in TITIP-005.

Decisions

  1. An asset record belongs to one owner and is filed into one vault. A vault may contain many asset records.

  2. The prototype category list is closed. Clients must not send free-form categories that bypass safety copy. Allowed categories:

    • Property
    • Banking
    • Insurance
    • Investments
    • Business
    • Digital assets (guidance about them, not keys)
    • Subscriptions
    • Dependants
    • Pets
    • Personal messages
    • Emergency contacts
    • Documents (where originals live, not the secret inside them)
  3. Each asset should capture institution or subject, a plain-language instruction, and where supporting originals are kept. It must not capture a secret. See the bank example in product/principles.md.

  4. “Digital assets” means instructions such as which exchange or which device. It must not be implemented as a seed-phrase field.

  5. Recipient assignment is per vault, not an ambient share of the whole inventory. An asset is visible to a recipient only because its vault is assigned (ADR-003).

  6. Notes and instructions are owner-authored. AI drafts, when they exist, stay unreleased until the owner saves them (TITIP-012).

Six documented items in the sample dashboard may be several asset records inside these vaults. The number is illustrative. The scoping is not.
